Creative Organizing - Unmounted Rubber Stamps

I love my unmounted rubber stamps from Unity (especially the KOTM) but have been searching for a storage solution. They come in these little mesh bags that are great for shipping, but not so great for storage. I was piling up all of the little bags into drawers and it was a bit of a chore to dump them all out to find the one I was looking for and then try to shove them all back into the little bag.


So, my brilliant friend and neighbor Michelle (who I am constantly bragging about, but she's amazing and I can't help it) invited me over last Sunday after working in the coffee shop to play in her craft room. She had some stamps she was getting rid of and let me go through them and have my pick and she showed me all of her stamping supply storage. I asked her how she stores her unmounted rubber stamps and she found this idea on another blog and I fell in love with it! I don't know the name of the other blog, otherwise I would give credit where credit is due.


These scrapbooking storage containers are from Target and I can fit 4 Unity Kit of the Month sets into one container in the kits with smaller stamps. In the kits with larger stamps, it's more like 2 but these containers are only $1.99 and they work so well! I made my first card last night with the new "system" and it was sooooooooooooo much easier to go through the kits and find the stamps I was looking for. They also end up taking up less space because I have them set up like books between my drawer carts. I'll take another photo of my little stamping corner soon since it has changed and expanded a bit. I know I love looking at other blogs for organization ideas, so I thought I would share.

Creative Organizing - Stamping/Scrapbooking Supplies

Ok, I can't take full credit for the creative part of my stamping & scrapbooking organization scheme. I found these wonderful storage bins at Costco (I love bins!) and finally was able to find a way to organize all of my supplies with room to grow! I don't have a craft room in my house, nor do I want to clutter a corner in the living room for me to do my stamping and scrapbooking, so I needed to be able to organize my supplies so that I can easily move them from the closet to the dining room table and for them to be stackable so that I don't take up the entire tabletop with supplies and leave no room for me to work. These bins work perfectly! I can store stamps in two bins (and even categorize my "loose" stamps in smaller bins), store my punches and other tools in another bin, keep all of my scissors together, inks together, and even have smaller compartments for buttons, brads, etc. I have been looking for months and months and was very excited to find these little gems.

I also made some new cards but I am going to wait to post them until I have given them away ;).

Creative Organizing - Make-Up

I am going to start posting some organizing tips on here. I am crazy for organization (as many of you are painfully aware, including my husband!) I even have a blog on my blog favorites that is strictly dedicated entirely to organization! I won't get crazy and start a blog dedicated to organization, I don't have the time or the energy for that, but I thought I would share little tips from time to time of things that have worked for me in hopes that someone else might find them useful.


The first one is for make-up. Do you remember those Caboodles from back in the day? They came in a variety of colors, were somewhat over-priced for what they were, and really did not have that many compartments when it came right down to it. So, I headed down to my local K-Mart (this was probably around 15 years ago or more) and I picked up a tackle box in the sporting goods section. That tackle box has lasted me all of these years and I still love it! I can hold all of my eye shadows, lipsticks, liners, brushes, tweezers, concealer, foundation, in one box and I love it! When Nancy was doing test runs of my make-up for the wedding, I could just grab my tackle box and take everything to her house without making multiple trips or worrying if I would forget a certain bag. This method may not work for everyone, but it works very well for me. I can see everything and the whole thing fits easily under my bathroom counter. Here are a few pics.
